3D Printing & Product Development —
From Design to Finished Part
We develop, design and print in our own lab: prototypes, small batches, models for mould-making, and replacement parts that are no longer available to buy.
What sets us apart from a pure printing service: we are a workshop. For us, the printed part is usually not the end result but an intermediate step towards glass, bronze or ceramics. That means we already know what will work in production while we're designing.
WHAT WE DO
Product Development
From the idea through CAD design to a working prototype. We design in Rhino3D, our everyday tool since 2014. With a background in product design, we consider form, manufacturing and material behaviour together from the very start.
Prototypes and Models
Display models, functional prototypes, design studies. For presentations, funding applications, patent filings, or simply to finally hold an idea in your hands. Models for Mould-Making Printed positives for plaster, silicone and steel moulds, wax models for investment casting, moulds for blowing hot glass into. This is where it pays off that we handle the further processing ourselves.
3D Reconstruction and Replacement Parts
A photo, a fragment or an original part becomes a digital model, and from that a new part. This is how we reconstructed the broken glass shade of an Art Deco lamp: all that remained was a photo and a single shard.
In-House Processes
* SLA resin printing for fine details and smooth surfaces, such as jewellery, small parts and investment casting models
* FDM printing for larger, sturdy parts, jigs and functional prototypes
* Ceramic 3D printing for printed clay objects, fired in our own kiln
* CNC milling for moulds and parts made of wood and plastic
* Kilns up to 43 cm in diameter and 52 cm in height for ceramics and glass
