From the screen to the workshop.
Planning and implementation under one roof.
The 3D lab is the interface between design and material. Here, the digital foundations for casting, milling, and printing processes are created—and here, they are directly translated into physical objects. Resin prints become casting positives for metal jewelry. CNC-milled graphite molds receive molten glass. Ceramic geometries emerge layer by layer from the nozzle. Rhino models become steel tools.
What distinguishes this lab from a purely service-oriented operation is that all digital processes are directly integrated with the studio's workshops. Modeling, printing, and milling are not endpoints here—they are the beginning of a physical process that continues within the same building.

Between workshop and laboratory
This research doesn't originate at a desk, but directly at the furnace—through the interplay of digital planning and 25 years of experience working with glass. Every experiment feeds back into production: as a new technique, a new tool, a new possibility for the next project. Also conducted on behalf of industrial partners, under NDA.
Materials technology

Understanding glass, down to the last fiber
Each material expands to a different degree—it is precisely this tension that makes their combination technically challenging and artistically interesting. In the studio, experiments are being conducted to explore how 3D-printed glass merges with classically blown glass, how ceramic forms from the printer enable structures that would be almost impossible to achieve by hand, and how color applications can be precisely applied to a form before the glass absorbs them.
