At Design Studio Fusión, ceramics is not an end in itself—it is a tool, a support, and a means of production all at once. We use the material where others reach their limits: as 3D-printed geometry, as a refractory mold for high-temperature processes, and as a basis for reproducible small series. For artists, designers, and clients who are looking for more than just a pottery studio.
Ceramic 3D printing

Digital geometry in burned form
Ceramic 3D printing transfers digitally modeled shapes directly into clay—layer by layer, precisely and without manual intermediate steps. The technology allows for geometries that could not be reproduced by hand or by casting: hollow structures, internal channels, organic forms with defined wall thicknesses.
After printing, each object undergoes the complete ceramic process—drying, bisque firing, glazing, and glaze firing. The final product is a fully functional ceramic object with all the material-specific properties. The combination of digital design and traditional firing makes the process particularly interesting for prototypes, unique pieces, and small production runs with highly complex shapes.

Refractory forms & tools

Ceramics as infrastructure for glass processing
Working with glass at temperatures between 700 and 1,100 °C requires robust tools. We develop and produce ceramic molds, supports, and aids that are used directly in kiln-forming, casting, and slumping processes—precisely tailored to the specific glass material and thermal conditions.
Whether it's a slumping mold for a specific vessel geometry, a casting negative for a glass sculpture, or kiln furniture for complex firing situations: development takes place in direct connection with our glassmaking process know-how. What's created here works—because it's built by someone who actually uses it.

Slip Casting — Small Series

Reproducible ceramic objects in controlled editions
In slip casting, liquid clay (slippery clay) is poured into plaster molds. After a defined setting time, a uniform wall forms—the object is then demolded, dried, and fired. This process yields reproducible results with consistent wall thickness and a clean surface.
We oversee the entire process: from mold design and plaster mold production to the final fired casting. For designers who want to produce a developed object in small series without taking the step into industrial manufacturing, slip casting is the most direct route between design and a near-series product.
