PHOTOGRAPHY

Welcome to our digital photo gallery. Here we showcase works and themes from various artists who aim to inspire and stimulate people through their art. However diverse and multifaceted their approaches may be, we share one goal: to provide impetus and directly address issues and concerns that are important to us, whether they be social, environmental, or economic in nature.

MELT ( 2 0 2 0 )

by Francesco Langer

Peru is a special place for me because I can ground myself and find inspiration there, especially in the Ancash region, where my mother's family lives. This part of the Andes is called the Cordillera Blanca because this landscape is dominated by the highest mountains on the South American continent, which are covered in snow year-round. As a young boy, I spent a lot of time exploring the mountains with my father. Even then, we noticed that there was less and less snow on the peaks each year and that the reservoirs that supply water to the people in the valleys were becoming increasingly empty. Many years later, at the end of my studies in Integrated Design, I took up this very personal concern and dedicated my thesis to the topic of tropical glacial melt.
