Service Description

In this 5-day intensive course, you'll combine modern 3D technology with traditional glassmaking—from the initial digital capture to the finished blown glass object. A seamless process unlike anything else. ... Course Outline: - Day 1: 3D Scanning and CAD Modeling — Digitally capture physical objects, prepare the model, and get it ready for printing - Day 2: 3D Printing — Introduction to printing processes and materials, print a positive model, and optimize it for mold making - Days 3 & 4: Mold Making — Learn about materials (plaster, silicone, graphite), create a multi-part mold, cure it, finish it, and prepare it for kiln firing - Day 5: Glassblowing — Blow glass into your self-made mold, experiment with different types of glass, complete and refine your object What you will gain: - In-depth knowledge of 3D scanning, CAD modeling, and printing for glass projects - Your own self-designed and blown glass objects - The ability to translate digital designs into handcrafted glass production - A consistent workflow that you can further develop independently Suitable for artists, designers, and glassblowers who want to explore innovative manufacturing techniques. No prior knowledge required — suitable for beginners and advanced learners. For the course days in Geltow, a house on Lake Schwielowsee is available right next to the studio — with sleeping accommodations, a kitchen, a coworking space, and a natural swimming area just 20 meters away.
